“HPL”
Der Couchtisch verdankt seinen Namen dem Material aus dem er per cnc-Fräse gefertigt wird, massives hpl.
Die Montage ist werkzeuglos und ohne zusätzliche Verbindungsmittel innerhalb weniger Minuten möglich.
War es bei den anderen Entwürfen noch das Bestreben, die Unterkonstruktion auf eine rechteckige Tischplatte “anzupassen”,
fügt sich hierbei die Platte derselben. Der Tisch besteht aus einem O-förmigen und zwei rechtwinklig darauf-treffenden
U-förmigen Fussteilen in 8 mm HPL compact, sowie zwei Tischplatten in 13 mm HPL compact.
Die grösste Diagonale misst 1200 mm, die Tischhöhe 370 mm.
Alle einzelnen Bauteile sind in geometrischen Abhängigkeiten aufeinander abgestimmt und zueinander angeordnet;
sie schaffen eine trapezförmige Tischplatte. Die Fussteile laufen nach unten in eine kleinere trapezförmige Ablage.
Einzelne Bilder und Worte können den Tisch nur schwer beschreiben, da er keine 2 gleichen Ansichten
oder parallel laufende Aussenkanten hat, und so sein Aussehen je nach Betrachtungswinkel stark variiert.
“hpl” is a cnc-produced pluggable coffee-table made in 8 and 13 mm hpl compact.
Toolless and without additional connectors to mount. The trapezioform table-top with dynamic angles
has slots in all corners to join it with the underconstruction. The base underneath the table-top
is made out of 4 pieces. A trapezioform frame connects the two corners over the long diagonal,
two leg-elements go off the frame in a right angle, and catch hold in the two remaining corners of the table-top.
Just above the ground another horizontal plate combines the 3 leg-elements as a stable structure.
The design is based on a reduced form-language, reminiscent of graphic elements. The thin 2-dimensional
plates lay stress on this bodyless character as well. Straight edges in association with dynamically
squared off surfaces and an extremly jut out underconstruction are the reason for its futuristic appearance.
